Pi PHOTONICS, INC. (Hamamatsu City, Japan / CEO: Takahiro Ikeda), a manufacturer and seller of optical equipment, has developed the “HOLOLIGHT PROJECTOR,” a variable pattern-forming LED lighting system designed to enhance safety at various worksites, including factories and construction sites.
Unlike the conventional “HOLOLIGHT MATRIX Series,” this new product features high-definition light pattern projection, supporting complex characters such as characters, symbols, scrolling text, and the display of multiple patterns from a single light source. Users can freely select projection patterns according to the application and installation environment, enabling more flexible and intuitive safety warnings.
Beyond safety applications, the product is intended for a wide range of uses, including work instruction displays for production line changes and stage lighting in the entertainment sector. This product was developed as the fourth achievement of the FY2024 Hamamatsu City New Industry Creation Project. It will be featured in the “Christmas Message Light-up” at the Hamamatsu Station Building on December 24, 2025, and will be exhibited at “TechGALA 2026” in Nagoya on January 29, 2026.

<Product Overview>
The “HOLOLIGHT PROJECTOR” is a projector-type LED lighting system aimed at improving safety in work environments such as construction and industrial sites. It enables high-definition display of characters and symbols—which was difficult to achieve with conventional models—and supports scrolling text and switching between multiple patterns. By projecting clear messages such as “Keep Out” and “Safety First”, it provides precise and easy-to-understand warnings in hazardous areas where pedestrians and vehicles intersect or where cranes pass overhead. In addition to safety, it can be utilized for promotional and informational purposes at events, exhibitions, and facility guidance, combining high-visibility optical displays with effective information delivery.
<Main Features>
1. Support for High-Definition Text, Patterns, and Scrolling Displays:
While the conventional “HOLOLIGHT MATRIX Series” featured a maximum of 25-dot grid, the “HOLOLIGHT PROJECTOR” supports up to 5,000 dots—a 200-fold increase in resolution. This high-resolution capability allows for the projection of intricate characters and symbols, as well as scrolling text and the ability to switch between multiple pre-registered patterns.
2. High Visibility even at Long Distances:
Through the integration of a high-performance LED light source and large optical lenses, the product maintains high visibility for text and shapes even over long distances. Two types of projection areas are available: Type S and Type L. At a distance of 30 meters, Type S provides approximately 400 lx for a 1m x 4m area, while Type L provides approximately 180 lx for a 1.5m x 6m area. This ensures clear visibility even in large workspaces. The projected illuminance is approximately 45–100 times higher than that of a typical home projector (approx. 1,600 lumens), enabling clear visibility even in bright or large workspaces.
3. Versatile Applications from Safety to Entertainment via Variable Displays:
The product is available in two models: the “Fixed Type,” which displays specific user-defined text or graphics, and the “Switchable Type,” which allows users to toggle between multiple registered patterns using buttons on the rear of the unit.
・Fixed Type: Supports fixed patterns of up to 5,000 dots, with options for blinking, fade-in/fade-out, and scrolling effects.
・Switchable Type: Allows for pattern selection and scroll speed adjustment via on-device buttons without requiring a PC connection.
This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of scenarios, from safety warnings and work instructions in factories to information displays at events and exhibitions.

<About Pi PHOTONICS, INC.>
Pi PHOTONICS developed the high-directivity LED lighting “HOLOLIGHT” in April 2008, and it has been adopted in various settings such as inspections at manufacturing sites, event and architectural lighting, and experiments at university research institutions. The “HOLOLIGHT Series,” an LED lighting system that forms light patterns, is a one-of-a-kind product that combines high-brightness LED light sources with large optical elements to create various light patterns at a distance. It is patented in Japan, the U.S., Europe, and China. In recent years, we have been pursuing new applications of light, including safety measures to reduce workplace accidents in factories, spatial design projects that create new landscapes by enhancing local appeal, and initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs through wildlife control using light. Particularly in the safety measures sector, we have started expanding overseas sales, focusing on the U.S. market, and are aiming for an IPO through the growth of this business.
