Pi PHOTONICS, INC. (Headquarters: Hamamatsu City, Japan; CEO: Takahiro Ikeda), a manufacturer specializing in optical equipment, has developed a new LED lighting device: the HOLOLIGHT DOT-RING SWITCH, a dot-ring pattern light with switchable size settings that can be adjusted to match the height and size of suspended loads on overhead cranes.
This new product enables external signal input to control both the size of the projected dot-ring pattern and its blinking control. It helps clearly visualize appropriate safety distance and enhances worker awareness in hazardous areas. Orders will be accepted from July 1, 2025. The product will be showcased at the following domestic and international exhibitions.
[Domestic Exhibitions]
July 16–19, 2025: Workplace Environment Expo @ INTEX Osaka (Osaka, Japan)
July 23–24, 2025: Business Matching Fair @ Act City Hamamatsu (Hamamatsu, Japan)
July 24–26, 2025: TECH BEAT Shizuoka @ Granship (Shizuoka, Japan)
July 28–29, 2025: BLUE ECONOMY EXPO @ Shimizu Port (Shizuoka, Japan)
[International Exhibitions]
June 24–27, 2025: Laser World of Photonics @ Messe München (Germany)
July 7–10, 2025: Korea International Safety & Health Show @ KINTEX (South Korea)

<Product Overview>
The HOLOLIGHT DOT-RING SWITCH is an upgraded version of the original HOLOLIGHT DOT-RING, now equipped with a function to switch the size of its dot-ring projection via external signal input. This allows users to dynamically adjusted the visible safety zone to match the height of the suspended load or to activate blinking during crane movement, helping alert surrounding workers. By clearly visualizing suitable safety distances, this innovation contributes to both improved safety and operational efficiency. Three dot-ring sizes are available—Small (S-type), Medium (M-type), and Large (L-type)—as well as three color options: Red, Green, and Blue.

<Main Features>
1. Switchable Dot-Ring Sizes:
The original HOLOLIGHT DOT-RING model offered a fixed dot-ring pattern size, limiting adaptability to different on-site conditions. The new HOLOLIGHT DOT-RING SWITCH allows users to switch among three pattern sizes (S-type, M-type, and L-type) using external signal input. This capability makes it possible to visualize appropriate safety distance based on load dimensions and worksite requirements, providing flexible operation across diverse crane environments with a single unit.
2. Three Light Color Options: Red, Green, Blue:
The lighting is available in three color options: red, green, and blue. Users can select the appropriate color based on the intended use. By assigning warning levels to each color, the system streamlines quick decision-making by workers and helps prevent accidents.
3. Customizable Functions Including Blinking Control:
External signal input also enables control of blinking effects. For example, the dot-ring pattern can blink while the load is in motion to warn nearby workers. Integration with sensors is also possible—for instance, triggering a blinking pattern when a person enters the projected safety zone. (Please note that sensors are not included with this product and must be prepared separately by the customer.) The system can adapt to specific operational and safety requirements.

<About Pi PHOTONICS, INC.>
Pi PHOTONICS developed the high-directivity LED lighting “HOLOLIGHT” in April 2008, and it has been adopted in various settings such as inspections at manufacturing sites, event and architectural lighting, and experiments at university research institutions. The “HOLOLIGHT Series,” an LED lighting system that forms light patterns, is a one-of-a-kind product that combines high-brightness LED light sources with large optical elements to create various light patterns at a distance. It is patented in Japan, the U.S., Europe, and China. In recent years, we have been pursuing new applications of light, including safety measures to reduce workplace accidents in factories, spatial design projects that create new landscapes by enhancing local appeal, and initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs through wildlife control using light. Particularly in the safety measures sector, we have started actively expanding International sales, focusing on the U.S. market, and are aiming for an IPO through the growth of this business.
